Not sure if Acupuncture will help you?

Meet Josh Elliott

I grew up in a small town in Iowa, where my grandfather was the local chiropractor. Watching neighbors come through his office looking for help and leave feeling better left a lasting impression on me.

Years later, I studied Chinese at the United States Naval Academy and lived in China during a study abroad program. After serving as a Naval Officer, I planned to return to Annapolis and open a traditional Chinese tea shop. But after years of chronic pain and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, my own search for healing led me to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other TCM therapies, I experienced firsthand how powerful these time-tested practices could be. Around that same time, my wife, whose great-grandfather was a third-generation acupuncturist in Korea, and I enrolled at Virginia University of Integrative Medicine to become licensed acupuncturists.

Today, it is a privilege to help others find relief from pain, recover from injury, and improve their health through compassionate, personalized care rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Choose the Treatment That's Right for You

Community Acupuncture

Community acupuncture is an affordable way to receive high-quality acupuncture in a comfortable shared treatment space. Same acupuncturist, just not a private room. Treatments are performed using a focused, efficient approach that works well for many common concerns, including pain, stress, headaches, allergies, and overall wellness.

Perfect for patients who want effective acupuncture at an accessible price or who are looking for ongoing maintenance care.

Your first acupuncture visit is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you're not satisfied, we'll refund your visit in full.

Private, Focused Treatment

Focused Treatments take place in a private treatment room and provide additional time for a more comprehensive evaluation and personalized care.

In addition to acupuncture, your treatment may include therapies such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, tui na, electrical stimulation, or other techniques when clinically appropriate. Every treatment is tailored to your individual condition and goals.

This option is ideal for patients with more complex conditions, those seeking a private treatment experience, or those who may benefit from multiple treatment techniques during the same visit.

You feeling safe and secure is extremely important and a vital aspect to a healing environment. You are more than welcome to bring someone with you to the private treatment room that you trust and will help you feel more comfortable. I’ve treated many women for anxiety, and several of them wanted to hold someone’s hand which really helped them throughout the treatment process. If there are any other special considerations that you need, please let me know as well.

Insurance

Insurance Accepted (Out-of-Network Benefits)

Hometown Acupuncture is currently an out-of-network provider.

Many insurance plans include acupuncture benefits even when you see an out-of-network practitioner. If your plan includes these benefits, your insurance may reimburse a portion of your treatment costs after your deductible and coinsurance requirements are met.

We are happy to:

  • Verify your out-of-network acupuncture benefits before your first visit.

  • Submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf whenever possible.

  • Explain your expected costs before treatment so there are no surprises.

Because every insurance plan is different, reimbursement amounts cannot be guaranteed.

Cash Pay

No insurance? No problem.

We believe getting acupuncture should be simple. That's why our pricing is transparent, with no hidden fees, no surprise charges, and no unnecessary upselling. The price you see is the price you pay.

Choose the option that's right for you:

  • Community Acupuncture – $59 per treatment in a relaxing shared treatment space.

  • Focused Care Session – $185 (initial) and $125 (follow up) per treatment in a private room. Your visit may include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, tui na, electrical stimulation, or other therapies when clinically appropriate, all at no additional cost.

We're confident you'll love your experience. If you're not satisfied, you don’t pay.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards.
